Huayan Temple in Renshou County, Meishan City, is situated in Weixin Village, Wenlin Town. Originally named Chaoguo Temple, it was first constructed during the Tang Dynasty, later renamed as Kuai'ao Temple, and reopened to the public in March 1995. The temple now occupies a land area of 10,985 square meters and has a built-up area of 3,380 square meters. It features halls such as the Guide Hall, the Mahavira Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Guanyin Hall, and the Five Contemplations Dining Hall, along with other auxiliary facilities. There are 42 resident monks and lay practitioners. In recent years, the temple has actively raised over 8 million yuan to construct buildings and beautify the environment. It established the Lisheng Association to support social welfare initiatives, educating devotees on the importance of combining faith with community service through acts of charity and dedication. The temple has donated a total of 50,000 yuan to the national Red Cross three times, and additionally raised more than 100,000 yuan to donate 2,500 pieces of clothing and quilts, as well as 80,000 jin (40,000 kg) of grain to support 30 low-income households, assist five out-of-school children, and care for 12 elderly, weak, sick, disabled, and lonely seniors. In 2005, to solve the fuel problem for both the temple and local residents, Huayan Temple raised 260,000 yuan to install a natural gas system, providing access to natural gas for 105 households and 330 people in the area, earning high praise from officials and locals alike. After the devastating "5·12" earthquake in 2008, the temple donated 2,000 yuan in cash and 20,000 jin (10,000 kg) of rice to support the disaster-stricken areas, and delivered 40 boxes of fruit to comfort the soldiers involved in relief efforts, receiving widespread acclaim from society.
