Zhaojiashan Huguan Reservoir – An artificially built reservoir located within Zhaojia Township of Baima Mountain. It has a catchment area of 340,000 square kilometers and a total storage capacity of 11.16 million cubic meters. The reservoir features rippling blue waters and lush forests and bamboo along its shores. Visitors can climb the uniquely designed arched dam to enjoy the natural scenery or go boating on the lake for leisure activities, giving them the feeling of “sailing on emerald waters, as if traveling in a painting.” The Huguan Reservoir boasts beautiful scenery, with forest coverage in the reservoir area exceeding 80%. The scenic area combines majestic mountains and picturesque waters, making it ideal for leisure and vacation. Every summer, hundreds of elderly people from the main urban area come here to escape the heat, spending nearly three months in the cool mountain air. The reservoir is also a favorite fishing spot among members of various fishing associations, and has been ranked by the Chongqing Fishing Association as one of the top ten most popular ecological fishing reservoirs. This scenic area is perfect for hiking and camping. The Huguan–Dashuhe hiking route has become a classic trail and is among the premium hiking routes developed by Daozhen County in Guizhou Province. Meanwhile, attractions such as Yandian, Lan Niu Hu (Rotten Ox Lake), and Matou Shan (Horse Head Mountain) have become top choices for camping enthusiasts.
