Wujiang Yinpan Hydropower Station — The Wujiang Yinpan Hydropower Station is located in the lower reaches of the Wujiang River, with its dam site situated at Yangjiatuo in Jiangkou Town, Wulong County. It is the eleventh cascade hydropower station along the Wujiang River. The dam site controls a drainage area of 7.491 square kilometers. It is situated downstream of the Pengshui Hydropower Station and upstream of the Baima cascade, serving as a key hub project that not only provides counter-regulation for the Pengshui Hydropower Station but also channels and improves navigation. It is one of the main power stations in Chongqing’s power grid. The reservoir has a normal water level of 215 meters and a total storage capacity of 320 million cubic meters. The dam is a concrete gravity dam with a maximum height of 80 meters. It is equipped with four axial-flow turbine generator units, each with a capacity of 150 MW, generating an annual output of 2.69 billion kW·h. The main structures of the project are arranged from left to right as follows: the power plant dam section, the spillway dam section, and the ship lock dam section. The entire project was completed in 2011. With the completion of the Wujiang Yinpan Hydropower Station, this area has become a shining pearl along the Wujiang River Gallery. Surrounded by overlapping green mountains and picturesque scenery where water and mountain reflect each other, the Xianshan Gorge features the spectacular sight of a “high gorge with a flat lake.” Boating through the area allows visitors to enjoy the majestic and beautiful landscapes on both banks and to listen to the melodious folk songs sung by local Miao girls. Once ashore, visitors can experience the ethnic charm of the Miao and Tujia peoples, enjoy hot springs, savor cured meats, sing mountain songs, and much more — an experience full of delight.
