The founding date is unknown, but it existed as early as the Tang Dynasty and has been repaired through successive dynasties. The temple faces south and north, and current structures include a stage, offering hall, main hall, east and west wing halls, and corridor rooms. The stage is a relic from the Jin Dynasty, while the rest date back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

The stage is one bay wide, four rafters deep, with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. The platform base is 1.1 meters high, slightly rectangular in shape, 7.4 meters long and 5.9 meters wide. The stage body is supported by pillars on all sides, with large tie beams placed above the four pillars. The pillar tops are adorned with corner brackets, and the eaves columns are connected with bracket sets, forming a bracket arm. The front is fitted with a lintel beam, and the rear rests against the main hall, creating a well-proportioned square spatial form. The architectural style is considered “a fairly intact representation of ancient theatrical architecture.” It is currently the earliest discovered ancient theatrical stage in China. Read more:
