The 2019 China Longzhou - Vietnam Phuc Hoa Red Trail International Marathon and the “Run, Guangxi!” Eco-Marathon Series (Longzhou Station) will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at the Shuikou Port in Longzhou County. Registration for the event is now officially open.
It is reported,the Longzhou Red Trail Cross-Border Race, held on0May 2,2017, was China’s first truly seamless same-day cross-border race, and the success of the China-Vietnam cross-border raceplayedan important role in energizing the innovative development of Guangxi’sLongzhou““sports + border + tourism”industry.In recent years, leveraging the opportunity to build a “National Red Tourism International Cooperation Pilot Zone,” Longzhou County has further strengthened cooperation with Vietnam, with the theme of China-Vietnam revolutionary friendship. It has accelerated the establishment of the China-Vietnam Red Tourism International Cooperation Zone, comprehensively promoted the China-Vietnam cross-border red tourism brand, and aimed to create an international red tourism destination. Hosting the 2019 China Longzhou - Vietnam Phuc Hoa Red Trail International Marathon represents an innovative path for deepening China-Vietnam exchanges and cooperation. It helps further integrate cultural tourism resources within Chongzuo Longzhou and Vietnam’s Cao Bang region, develop new “sports + border + tourism” products, and establish a transnational red tourism brand.Innovative developmenthas playedan important role.
This edition of the event transitions from a mountain cross-country race to a marathon, aligning with the standards of the world’s six major marathons. It aims to deliver higher, stricter, and more professional competition organization, providing excellent services for runners. At the same time, themed “Cross-border Scenery, A Red Trail Journey,” the event enhances the overall race experience, encouraging more amateur runners to participate in this cross-border event and deeply immerse themselves in the cultural charm of both China and Vietnam. The competition features three categories: half marathon (21.0975 km), 10 km fun run, and mini run (parent-child fun run), with an expected total of 1,000 participants. In terms of course design, full consideration is given to integrating the natural landscapes of Longzhou County and Vietnam’s Cao Bang Province, along with the cultural characteristics of both countries. Highlights along the route include displays of China-Vietnam folk elements, such as performances by Longzhou Tianqin girls cheering on runners and encouragement from Vietnamese spectators. Additionally, culturally distinctive aid stations featuring Chinese and Vietnamese flavors will be set up along the way. Special activities include a poverty alleviation charity initiative that encourages runners and the broader public to spread love through running—accumulating mileage to redeem discount vouchers for purchasing agricultural products made by underprivileged households in Longzhou, thereby supporting the county’s poverty alleviation efforts.
