The Mount Mouwei Scenic Area is located in the southern part of Pengshui County, Chongqing, 31 kilometers from the county seat and a 2.5-hour drive from the main city. With an average altitude of 1,500 meters, it covers an area of over 100,000 acres, has a forest coverage rate of 91%, an average annual temperature of 14.9°C, an average annual precipitation of 1,400 mm, and an average of 40 days of snowfall per year. The area boasts a negative oxygen ion content as high as 110,000/cm³, earning it the title “an oxygen bar suspended in heaven.”

Mount Mouwei is rich in natural resources and features unique ecological landscapes, including geological wonders such as sky crevices, cave grottoes, hundred-mile stone forests, towering cliffs, and vast sinkholes. It also offers stunning atmospheric phenomena like misty illusions, snowfalls, icy tree crystals, rising suns, and colorful clouds. Moreover, the mountain showcases beautiful woodland scenery with medicinal herbs, rare plants, wildflowers and fruits, expansive green forests, and ancient towering trees.

In spring, the mountains bloom with vibrant flowers and carry the fragrance of warmth; in summer, the area is cool, fresh, and under an azure sky; in early autumn, fruits are fragrant, and the air is crisp and high; in winter, it is adorned with crystal-like snow and dancing flakes. Truly, the scenery is magnificent everywhere, and every season brings its own distinct beauty.

By car: Via the Yu-Xiang Expressway — Banan Toll Station → Nanchuan → Wulong → Pengshui West → Scenic Area, a 2.5-hour drive

By bus: 1. Long-distance bus from Chaotianmen to Pengshui, with departures every 30 minutes on a rolling schedule;

2. Train from Longtousi Railway Station to Pengshui, with 5–6 services per day.
