Silver Cave Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Silver Cave is the latest karst cave attraction developed in Guilin. It earned its name from the exceptionally rich crystallization within the cave, where the rocks shimmer brilliantly like silver.

Silver Cave Scenic Area is located in Lipu County, Guilin, facing vast fields, with the graceful Little Green Mountain and Zhaozhai Mountain rising majestically nearby. The legendary tales of Yang Wenguang, a hero of the Song Dynasty, and Chen Jia, a resistance fighter against the French, add even more cultural depth to the site.

The scenic area boasts a beautiful environment, resembling a giant natural bonsai. Surrounded by mountains, with the graceful Little Green Mountain and Zhaozhai Mountain rising from the landscape and thousands of acres of peach orchards scattered throughout, it is hailed as a "green poetic homeland." The area is filled with greenery—mountains, water, land, trees, and fields all display various shades of green, earning it recognition as the "epitome of Guilin’s landscapes" among experts.

Silver Cave is a multi-story karst cave that spans twelve peaks, comprising three main sections: the lower cave, the main hall, and the upper cave. It features various types of stalactites formed across different geological periods. The cave boasts dozens of unique attractions, with the Musical Stone Screen, Moon Palace, and Snow Mountain Waterfall celebrated as the “Three Wonders,” while the Buddha Preaching Sutras, Single Pillar Supporting Heaven, and Primordial Pearl Umbrella are known as the “Three Treasures.”

An underground river winds its way into the cave through the mountain, twisting and turning with crystal-clear waters where fish can be clearly seen. The scenic spots along both banks of the river are vibrant and colorful. By boat, visitors can reach the Qing Lake outside the cave. Stalactites inside the cave reach heights of several dozen meters and are crystal clear. Those containing quartz and calcite particles refract a silvery glow under the light, which is why it's called “Silver Cave” and praised as a “world wonder of karst caves.”

The Silver Cave Scenic Area is full of greenery. The mountains, water, land, trees, and fields are all green, leading some to call it the "epitome of Guilin’s landscapes." The area resembles a massive natural bonsai, surrounded by mountains with hundreds of acres of peach orchards interspersed throughout, offering fragrant flowers and fruits in all seasons. The harmonious blend of lake views, mountain scenery, and pastoral beauty is truly enchanting, earning it the title of a “model poetic homeland.” Additionally, events such as the Lipu Village Flower Festival, Chestnut Festival, Taro Food Festival, cycling rallies, and extreme rock climbing held annually further enrich the experience.

Transportation

1. Take a bus from Guilin to Lipu and get off at Silver Cave.

2. From Yangshuo, there are shuttle buses to the scenic area every day from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
