Pigeon Nest Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Pigeon Nest Park, also known as Eagle Point Park. On the coastal cliffs formed by geological faulting, there is a massive rock resembling a standing eagle, hence the name Eagle Point Rock. The rock stands over 20 meters tall, and in the past, flocks of pigeons often gathered at dawn or dusk or nested in the crevices, which is how the site got its name "Pigeon Nest." Pigeon Nest Park is the best place to watch the sunrise over the sea. Every summer morning, tens of thousands of tourists gather here to witness the spectacular sight of the "red sun bathing in the sea." In the summer of 1954, Chairman Mao Zedong stood atop Pigeon Nest Park, gazed into the distance, and was filled with emotion, composing the timeless poem "Waves Washing the Sand · Beidaihe." In 1985, a 50-meter-long antique-style structure—the Sea-Viewing Corridor—was built at the southeastern cliff top of the park. The corridor features more than 100 traditional murals. To the south of the corridor is a study pavilion, dedicated for distinguished guests and visitors to write poetry or paint. A plaque inscribed with the words "Study Pavilion" by Vice Chairman Zhou Gucheng hangs above the pavilion. To the west of the pavilion is a stele corridor and stele pavilion, bearing a plaque inscribed with the words "Stele Pavilion" by Vice Premier [name omitted]. On the western beach of the park lies an artificial lake, where zigzagging bridges, pavilions, and waterside pavilions offer spaces for rest and recreation. The park is also home to over 600 pigeons that roam the square, allowing visitors to interact and take photos with them.

Tiger Stone Marine Park

Located in the center of Beidaihe Scenic Area, the park covers a total area of 33,000 square meters. The park features variously shaped reefs that resemble a group of tigers, hence the name Tiger Stone. Legend has it that over two thousand years ago, Emperor Qin Shi Huang traveled eastward to the coast of the Bohai Sea but was blocked by a mountain. Enraged, he took out his magical mountain-moving whip and lashed the mountain several times. Instantly, the peak flew up, and rocks scattered into the air, flying eastward and westward. The emperor chased relentlessly until he reached this seaside spot, where the rocks had vanished, replaced by a group of colorful tigers playing by the shore. Upon seeing the emperor, the tigers knelt down and begged for mercy. The emperor then turned them into reefs, forever inhabiting this sandy beach. Today, these Tiger Stones have become a popular attraction for visitors.

It was here that Chairman Mao Zedong wrote the famous poem "Waves Washing the Sand · Beidaihe." Highlights

The most captivating aspect of the park is watching the sunrise. The best spot to view it is from Eagle Point Rock on the major fault zone of the quartz vein running east-west at Chitu River Mouth. Located where the eastern hill of Beidaihe Beach extends toward the sea, the area features a massive rock about 20 meters high that resembles a giant eagle when viewed from afar, known as "Eagle Point Rock." Wild pigeons often nest on the rock year-round, and over time, it has become a large habitat for pigeons, hence the name "Pigeon Nest."

Transportation

Visitors arriving at Qinhuangdao Railway Station can take bus No. 34 to the foot of Chitu Mountain. For those driving, exit the highway at the Beidaihe exit and head straight along the coastal road to reach the park.
