Lianfeng Mountain

Lianfeng Mountain Park, also known as Lotus Mountain Park, is located slightly west of the center of Beidaihe Beach. Stretching five kilometers from east to west along the coastline, it is divided into East Lianfeng Mountain, Middle Lianfeng Mountain, and West Lianfeng Mountain. Established in 1919 as the largest forest park in Beidaihe, the park preserves its original terrain, landforms, and vegetation. The park features three pine-covered peaks, collectively called "Lianfeng" (Linked Peaks) due to their connected ridges, and resembling a lotus seedpod when viewed from afar, hence also referred to as Lotus Mountain. The highest peak, East Lianfeng Mountain, stands at 153 meters above sea level and is the highest point in Beidaihe. Various buildings and villas are tucked among the pine forests, creating a uniquely charming atmosphere. Among the most famous are the “- Building” and “General Zhang Xueliang’s Building.” Twenty out of the historic “Twenty-Four Scenic Spots of the Seaside” from the Republican era are located here. In recent years, the “Hanwu Terrace” was discovered at the summit of Middle Lianfeng Mountain, gradually unveiling the mountain’s mysterious past. In 1998, a new attraction, the “Birdsong Forest,” was added to the park, home to over 200 species and more than 2,000 rare birds.

Key attractions within the park include Chicken Comb Mountain, Sea-Viewing Pavilion, Lotus Stone, Bell Tower, Dragon Mountain, and Ancient Guan Temple. Introduction

With its elegant peaks resembling a lotus seedpod, the mountain is also called Lotus Mountain. More than half of the Twenty-Four Scenic Spots of Beidaihe are found in Lianfeng Mountain Park, attesting to its exceptional beauty.
