Emerald Island is 40 kilometers from the exit of Funing County on the Beijing-Shenyang Expressway and 50 kilometers from Qinhuangdao. Buses go directly to Golden Coast, from where you can take a minibus to Emerald Island. It is located on the east side of the coastal highway between Qinhuangdao and Jingtang Port, with road signs along the way. Introduction

Situated along the southern coast of the Golden Coast, it is one of China’s seven national marine nature reserves. The island features rolling sand dunes with beautiful shapes, the highest reaching up to 44 meters, and is known as the “Great Desert of Eastern Beijing.” It is also a kingdom for birds, home to as many as 68 species under national key protection. Additionally, the island has various medicinal plants such as sandy ginseng and white reeds. Here, besides enjoying ocean views, you can also try sand sliding, space ball rolling, swimming, fishing, as well as activities like paragliding, beach volleyball, bonfire parties, and grilled seafood.
