Golden Bay Beach is located in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. Changli Golden Coast is situated on the Bohai Sea coast in the southeastern part of Changli County, Hebei Province. With a total coastline stretching 52.1 kilometers, it boasts fine sand, soft beaches, clear water, and calm tides—making it an ideal destination for sea bathing, sunbathing, sand bathing, forest bathing, and air bathing.

At Changli Golden Coast, you can try sandboarding by taking a cable car directly to the top of the dunes. Along the way, you’ll see continuous rolling sand hills with unique scenery. Sitting on a wooden or bamboo sandboard, you’ll swoosh down from sand dunes dozens of meters high, accelerating as you go. Upon reaching flat ground, inertia will keep you sliding forward for dozens of more meters. It’s a thrilling yet safe experience. There are two ways to sandboard: one is from the sand dune down to the valley, and the other is straight toward the sea.

In addition to sandboarding, Changli Golden Coast also offers recreational activities such as hot air balloons, tourist helicopters, parachuting, and speedboat tours of the marine world. You can swim in the shallow sea or soar high above—it's a truly unique experience. The coastal area here has been shaped by wind, tides, ocean currents, and rivers, forming a 30-kilometer-long, 4-kilometer-wide sand belt, along with several coastal sand ridges and tidal flats. Inland from the shoreline lies an 800-meter-wide man-made forest belt, home to stretches of wild vegetation. Among the trees are continuous sand dunes, 20 to 40 meters high, which are not only rare in China but also uncommon worldwide. This area holds significant scientific value for the study of sea-land changes and marine dynamics. Moreover, the pleasant climate, unique sand dune landscapes, and expansive sandy beaches make it a great spot for tourism and summer retreats. Close to the Beidaihe Beach, Changli Golden Coast offers distinctive and enchanting scenery with a charm distinctly different from that of Beidaihe.

Changli Golden Coast is the popular name for the coastal scenic area of Changli County, also under the jurisdiction of Qinhuangdao City, and neighboring Beidaihe Beach. In the early 1980s, experts from the Institute of Geography at the Chinese Academy of Sciences discovered this long-dormant tourist paradise and repeatedly marveled that it was China’s “Golden Coast,” comparable to the renowned Australian Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Thus, it earned the moniker “Golden Coast.”

Changli Golden Coast has a 52-kilometer-long coastline and is just 15 kilometers away from the famous summer resort of Beidaihe. However, unlike Beidaihe, there are almost no rocks here—instead, you’ll find desert-like landscapes only typically seen in Gobi deserts or ancient Yellow River deltas. Rolling crescent-shaped sand dunes line the coast, stretching like a golden dragon over a hundred li long, shimmering brilliantly and a delight to the eye. Adjacent to this “golden dragon” is a forest belt composed of nearly 80,000 acres of windbreak and sand-fixing trees, interwoven with hues of yellow and green, setting off the blue sea in a mysterious, splendid panorama.
