The Former Site of the Zhu De Maoshi Military Conference is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

The Maoshi Military Conference was a significant military decision-making meeting during China’s New Democratic Revolution. The former site is located at Quande School in Maoshi Market, Shangrao Town. In the early hours of October 5, 1927, - led over 2,000 troops from the Nanchang Uprising, traveling from Sanhe Dam in Dabu County via Jiucun and Erci, and upon arriving in Maoshi, Shangrao, immediately ordered the 300-plus members of the 9th Army Instructional Regiment to reinforce the Raoping peasant army in capturing Raoping County. On the morning of the third day, - presided over an important military decision-making conference at Quande School. Over 20 military leaders, including Zhou Shidi, Li Shuxun, and Chen Yi, attended the meeting, where the crucial strategic decision of “marching west through the mountains, heading straight for southern Hunan” was made. Subsequently, the uprising forces exited via Baishong Pass on the Fujian-Guangdong border through Qilin Ridge, eventually reaching Jinggangshan to join forces with Mao Zedong’s Autumn Harvest Uprising troops, establishing the New Democratic revolutionary base. Before bidding farewell to Maoshi, - also affectionately gifted the Raoping peasant army a horse and a batch of firearms.

On January 23, 1980, Comrade -’s daughter Zhu Min, Zhao Rong (former Secretary of the Instructional Regiment of the 9th Army of the Nanchang Uprising and then Head of the Logistics Department of the Beijing Military Region), accompanied by Li Zhang (Deputy Minister of the Cultural Department of the Political Department of the Guangzhou Military Region) and Yan Fu (Secretary of the Raoping County Committee), visited Quande School in Maoshi, Shangrao. On July 10, 1981, Quande School was designated by the Raoping County People’s Government as one of the first batch of county-level key cultural relic protection units.

Born on December 1, 1886, with the courtesy name Yujie. Native of Yilong, Sichuan. In 1909, he was admitted to the Yunnan Military Academy and joined the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance the same year. He participated in the Xinhai Revolution. After 1913, he served in the Yunnan Army as a battalion commander, deputy regimental commander, regimental commander, and brigade commander. He took part in the National Protection and Constitutional Protection Wars. In 1922, he went to Germany to study and joined the Chinese Communist Party that same year. In 1925, he went to the Soviet Union to study military science and returned to China the following year.
