Taolin Kou Reservoir is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

A national AAA-level scenic spot and a national water conservancy scenic area. Located in Qinglong County in the northwest of Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. Connected to the scenic area via the Beijing-Qinhuangdao and Beijing-Shenyang expressways, as well as National Highways 102 and 205. It is 100 kilometers away from downtown Qinhuangdao. A water-based scenic tourism area. The total area of the scenic zone is 145 square kilometers, including 46 square kilometers of water surface, along with the Northern Qi Great Wall, which was originally built 1,500 years ago. Taolin Kou was a frequent passage point for Mongol troops invading the Ming Dynasty, with four documented invasions before the Wanli era of the Ming. To strengthen defenses, the Ming Dynasty continuously built additional facilities here, turning it into a major pass. The pass originally had an inner and outer city. In 1979, Qinhuangdao City constructed the “Yinqingru Qin” water diversion project, constructing the Taolin Kou Reservoir by damming the Qinglong River, submerging the outer city. The eastern side of Taolin Kou features steep mountains, with peaks reaching 615.7 meters; the western side is relatively flat, with the Great Wall extending northwest along the Qinglong River.
