Wuquan Tower

Wuquan Tower is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Guangdong Province.

Wuquan Tower is located in Yingxi Village, Xinfeng Town, Raoping County. Constructed in the 16th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1751), it faces southeast and is circular, with a diameter of 58.6 meters and a total area of about 3,846 square meters. It features a two-courtyard enclosed design, with single-story houses in the front and three-story buildings in the rear. There is an inner courtyard in the center, and the main gate faces directly toward the ancestral hall. The tower has a total of 36 housing units, 2 wells, and a pond in front of the entrance. The gate tower and lintel are built from stone, with the lintel inscribed in relief with the characters “Wuquan Tower” and the inscription “Erected by Fu Chu Guangxian Ji, in the year of Chongguang Xieqia.” The base and walls are constructed from stone and compacted yellow earth, with interior walls finished in shell lime plaster, gray-tiled roofs, and overhanging eaves. The basic structure of the tower is well preserved and distinctive, possessing notable historical and artistic value. In April 2011, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site by the People’s Government of Raoping County.
