Beidaihe Roller Skating Museum

The Beidaihe Roller Skating Museum is Asia's first specialized museum dedicated to roller skating. It was jointly invested in and established in 2008 by the People's Government of Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao City, and Zhongbei MiGao Sports Goods Co., Ltd. Located within the Beidaihe Olympic Avenue Park, the museum covers a construction area of approximately 721 square meters and officially opened to the public for free on August 15, 2008.

The exhibition space of the Beidaihe Roller Skating Museum is divided into eight display halls: the Central Fine Exhibition Hall, the History of Modern Roller Skating Development Worldwide, the Brief History of Modern Roller Skating Development Worldwide, the Brief History of Roller Skating Development in China, the Roller Skating Culture of Beidaihe, the Diverse World of Roller Skating, and the Brief History of Contemporary Roller Skating Development Worldwide. With the aims of exhibition and appreciation, experience and exchange, research and evaluation, and comprehensive services, the museum integrates authority, knowledge, academia, and interactivity. It combines the functions of collection, exhibition, research, evaluation, and education, forming an exhibition system where permanent displays, thematic exhibitions, and temporary exhibitions complement and enhance each other. From multiple perspectives and angles, the museum showcases roller skating sports and culture to the public, becoming a multifunctional comprehensive facility for promoting and popularizing roller skating. It serves as an important window for gaining a comprehensive understanding of the development of roller skating both domestically and internationally.

The Beidaihe Roller Skating Museum also carries the significant mission of fostering the domestic roller skating atmosphere, guiding cultural development, promoting the public’s deeper understanding of roller skating, and accelerating alignment with international roller skating trends. With rich content, it provides diverse roller skating information for visitors of different levels and needs. The exhibitions make full use of modern high-tech methods, offering the public an enjoyable cultural experience of roller skating through convenient services.

Currently, the museum houses nearly 100 precious roller skating documents, over 200 physical roller skating exhibits, and more than 500 various photographs.
