Former Site of the Communist Party of China Raising County Branch

The former site of the Communist Party of China Raising County Branch is a cultural relic protection unit of Raising County.

The former site of the Communist Party of China Raising County Branch is located at the ancestral hall of the Lin family on the right side of East Lane, Chengzai Neighborhood Committee, Sanrao Town, Raising County. The ancestral hall was originally built in the first year of the Wanli reign during the Ming Dynasty (1573), and was renovated in 2002 and 2010. It is currently used by descendants of the Lin family from Sanrao. Facing north and situated to the south, it has two courtyards, is 16 meters wide, 26 meters deep, with a total area of 416 square meters. It features a screen wall, stone drums, a flush-gable roof, yellow glazed tile roofing, and a wooden bracket and beam structure.

In 1921, revolutionary comrades such as Lin Conghuang spread patriotic ideas of “anti-imperialism and resistance to invasion” here, organizing the “Students’ Federation” of Raoyao City to carry out campaigns against aggression and Japanese goods. In 1923, they formed the “New Students’ Society” and “Comrades’ Study Society,” initiating mass movements of workers, peasants, merchants, and students advocating for “anti-corruption and the removal of corrupt officials.” In January 1926, the Communist Party of China Raising County Branch was established at the “Lin Family Examination Hall” (the Lin family ancestral hall), with Lin Conghuang serving as the secretary. In April 1926, the “Raising County Peasants’ Association” was founded at the Lin family ancestral hall, also with Lin Conghuang as chairman. This site served as a major hub for revolutionary activities in Raising County during the New Democratic Revolution period and holds significant historical value. In April 2011, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Raising County.
