Qiming Tower

Qiming Tower is a cultural heritage site protected by Raoping County.

Qiming Tower is located in Louzibei Natural Village, Ershan Village, Shangrao Town, Raoping County. It was originally built in the 25th year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1899). Oriented east to west, it has a circular shape with a diameter of 100 meters and covers a total area of approximately 7,951 square meters.

It features two concentric enclosures: the inner enclosure has a row of single-story houses in the front and a three-story building at the back, divided into 32 rooms in total. The center opens to an inner courtyard and includes a well. The outer enclosure has a row of single-story houses in the front and a two-story building at the back, divided into 48 rooms, and features a pond in front. The structure has stone wall foundations, a stone gate tower, walls built from rammed yellow earth, gray tile roofing, and overhanging eaves.

The tower is well-preserved and boasts a magnificent exterior. It is a typical example of earthen tower architecture from the late Qing Dynasty and holds high historical and artistic value. In April 2011, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site by the People’s Government of Raoping County.
