Dongtai Building

Dongtai Building is a cultural heritage site protected by Raoping County.

Dongtai Building is located in Chengxia Natural Village, Kangdong Village, Shangrao Town, Raoping County. It was originally built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1736–1795) and later underwent renovations. The structure faces west and is circular in shape, with a diameter of 45 meters and a total area of approximately 2,149 square meters. It features a two-courtyard enclosed layout, with two-story buildings in the front and three-story buildings in the rear. There is an inner courtyard at the center, and the building complex includes a total of 26 rooms, one well, and one pond in front of the entrance. The gate tower is built of stone, with a stone base and earthen walls. The interior walls are coated with plaster, the roof is covered with gray tiles, and the eaves are cantilevered. Well-preserved, the building is a typical example of Qing Dynasty earthen building architecture and holds certain historical and artistic value. In April 2011, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site by the People’s Government of Raoping County.
