Yanxi Tower is located in Yemukeng Natural Village, Shangshan Village, Shangrao Town, Raoping County. It was originally built in the 34th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1908). The structure faces southwest from the northeast, has a circular shape with a diameter of 48 meters, and covers an area of 1,809 square meters. It is a two-courtyard enclosed building, featuring a flat house at the front and a three-story building at the rear. An inner courtyard is located in the center, and the tower is divided into 26 rooms. There is also one well, as well as a stone gate tower and lintel. The lintel is inscribed with the name “Yanxi Tower” in intaglio. The base is made of stone, while the walls are rammed earth with yellow clay. The roof is covered with gray tiles, and the eaves are cantilevered. This relatively small but well-preserved structure is a typical example of late Qing Dynasty tulou architecture, possessing certain historical and artistic value. In April 2011, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site by the People’s Government of Raoping County.
