The Former Site of the Haishan Volunteer Army's Anti-Japanese Command Headquarters is located at the Haishan Liu’s Ancestral Hall in Longbei Village, Haishan Town, Raoping County, Chaozhou City, dating back to 1938.

On April 19, 2019, the Former Site of the Haishan Volunteer Army's Anti-Japanese Command Headquarters was designated as part of the Ninth Batch of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Haishan Town: Originally known as Penglai in ancient times, Haishan Town is located at the southern frontier of Raoping County and is the only island town in Chaozhou City. During the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Xinning Prefecture’s Jiangzhou Fort. In 1928, during the Republic of China era, the Haishan District was established. In January 1950, the Haishan District was created again, and in 1957, the district was abolished and replaced with two townships: Hainan Township and Haibei Township. In May 1958, these were merged into Haishan Township, which was renamed Haishan People’s Commune on September 18 of the same year. In November 1983, the commune was restructured into a district, and in November 1986, it became an administrative town under the jurisdiction of Shantou City. Since 1992, it has been under the administration of Chaozhou City.
