Gangbei Cliff Carvings

The Gangbei Cliff Carvings are a cultural relic protection unit of Shantou City.

The Gangbei Cliff Carvings are located on a small hill in the southwest of Gangbei Community, Yuxin Subdistrict, Haojiang District. Dating back to the Song Dynasty, they are categorized as cave temples and cliff carvings.

On October 10, 2014, the Gangbei Cliff Carvings were designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Shantou City.

Yuxin Subdistrict: Located on the southern bank of [the river], Yuxin Subdistrict borders Majiao Subdistrict to the east, Chaoyang District and Hepu Subdistrict to the west, Binhai Subdistrict to the south, and [a body of water] to the north. It covers an area of 13 square kilometers and governs six community neighborhood committees: Yushi, Gangbei, Liaoyuan, Lighthouse, Liming, and Xiaya, with a total population of 21,047. In 2008, the subdistrict achieved a total industrial and agricultural output value of 294.74 million yuan, an increase of 22% year-on-year, including 240.22 million yuan in industrial output value and 54.52 million yuan in agricultural output value. It also generated a total industrial and commercial tax revenue of 7.62 million yuan, up 93.89% from the previous year.
