Macau’s Lunar New Year float parade features Taiwanese electric performance troupes to celebrate the festive season

Director of the Macao Tourism Board, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, stated that this year’s “Galloping Horses Shine Bright over the Macao Bay” will feature 13 floats parading and 23 local groups performing along the route. To make the event more vibrant and appealing, performance groups from eight regions—Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and Portugal—have been invited, with a total of 1,038 performers.The program includes a opening ceremony, float parade, mass performance, stage show, fireworks, and float exhibition.。

 

The float parade on the third day of the Lunar New Year will take place along part of the “Arts & Culture Exploration” walking route, starting at the Macao Science Center and ending at Sai Van Lake Square, aiming to reduce traffic pressure on the city center’s main roads and allowing participants to enjoy the night scenery and fireworks along the shore.

 

The opening ceremony of the “Galloping Horses Float Parade” on the third day of the Lunar New Year will begin at 20:00 at the Macao Science Center Plaza, proceeding along Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen to Sai Van Lake Square in front of the Macao Tower. The Macao Tourism Board has set up four performance stops along the parade route, located at the Science Center Plaza, in front of the Kun Iam Statue, near MGM Macau, and at Sai Van Lake Square. At 20:45, a stage performance will be held at Sai Van Lake Square, with some performance groups also taking the stage as the parade arrives. Fireworks will commence at 22:00.

On the evening of the third day of the Lunar New Year, the Macao Tourism Board will set up large screens at the Science Center and broadcast the live event on screens located along Avenida da Marginal da Praia Grande, Macao Tower Convention & Entertainment Center, Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva, yP Han Street Market Park, and in front of the Fire Station in Coloane. This will allow the public to enjoy the exciting moments of the entire parade.The “Galloping Horses Float Parade” on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year will also feature 13 floats parading, starting from Avenida da Ilha Verde and ending at yP Han Street Market Park, with a scheduled stage performance.。

 

The 13 floats participating in the “Galloping Horses Float Parade” will be exhibited separately at Sai Van Lake Square and Tap Seac Square from February 3 to 16. The float light decorations will be illuminated from 19:00 to 23:00 each evening.
