Funing Xiangshan Scenic Area

The Xiangshan Tourist Scenic Area is located in Yuguang Town, Funing County. Surrounded by mountains, the area features a serene body of water at its center, with blooming wildflowers and abundant wildlife all around, often referred to as a "paradise on earth." Its main peak stands majestically and rests gracefully, earning the name "Xiangshan" (Elephant Mountain) due to its resemblance to a giant elephant lying by the lake.

The entire scenic area covers a planned area of approximately 2.8 square kilometers. Its main attractions consist of both natural and cultural landscapes. Natural attractions mainly include Elephant Mountain, Little Elephant Mountain, and Xiangshan Lake, while cultural attractions feature the Xiangshan Nine Elders Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Xiangshan Calligraphy and Painting Club, Art Corridor, Cuiwen Pavilion, Museum, and Wanfang Stone Carving Garden. The harmonious blend of natural landscapes and artistic heritage makes it a rare ecological and cultural leisure destination in northern China.

The scenic area is characterized by undulating mountains and rolling hills. Although the peaks are not particularly high, all being below an elevation of 360 meters, they are mostly solemn and rustic, with rugged and uniquely shaped rocks that seem crafted by nature. The mountains are covered with lush trees, blooming flowers, and rich vegetation, offering high levels of negative oxygen ions and home to a variety of wild animals and birds. Xiangshan Lake within the area is a small reservoir with a perennial capacity of 500,000 cubic meters. It has clear water, a vast surface, and is inhabited by fish, shrimp, crabs, and other aquatic life.

The Xiangshan Scenic Area is about 20 kilometers from downtown Qinhuangdao and the "Summer Capital" Beidaihe. Several national highways, expressways, and railways pass nearby.
