China Lotus Garden in Nandaihe

Covering an area of 600 acres, China Lotus Garden boasts over 300 varieties of lotuses from China and abroad. Boating on the lake, you’ll see dots of lotus blossoms and endless stretches of green leaves. Appreciate the elegance of small bridges over flowing water, feel the liveliness of fish in the water, and admire how the thick, round lotus leaves cradle the graceful, slender lotus flowers. China Lotus Garden is part of the Nandaihe International Entertainment Center and consists of several main areas: the Yuehe Square, Thousand Lotus Lake, Hundred Steps to Lotus, Lake Heart Island, Jiangnan Water Town, and Precious Lotus Garden.

Yuehe Square is located in the northeast part of China Lotus Garden and features attractions such as the Yuehe Building, Fulu Shou Bridge, ornamental columns, the Lotus Fairy sculpture, and the guardian lion statues.

Yuehe Building: Oriented from the northeast to the southwest, it stands 26 meters tall with a floor area of 1,000 square meters across three levels. The first floor serves as a passage for people and vehicles as well as service facilities; the second floor hosts a lotus culture exhibition hall; and the third floor offers a lotus-viewing platform. This building features an ancient Chinese architectural style that incorporates modern design elements and classical charm—majestic, grand, and spectacular. With its symmetrical layout, post-and-lintel structure, vibrant colors, and harmonious decorations, it naturally showcases architectural beauty, structural elegance, and spatial harmony. Upon entering the Yuehe Building, visitors are first struck by its impressive presence, while also being offered ample space to admire the beautiful scenery of the lotus garden. Even before seeing the details, a climb to the top provides a sweeping view that captures the overall essence of the garden, delivering the joy of "seeing it first." Looking closer, the landscape features clear lakes, lush leaves, delicate flowers, quiet bridges, winding paths, and bustling visitors, creating an urge to embrace the boundless beauty with open arms. Gazing into the distance, the greenbelt surrounding the sea is lush and vibrant, with cicadas chirping and birds singing, their echoes lingering in the air. This pulls your thoughts far away, and when the sound of waves occasionally reaches your ears, you’re reminded that the ocean is just nearby—offering a taste of the feeling that the horizon is just a step away, sparking endless reflection.

Lotus Fairy Sculpture: Serving as the iconic symbol of China Lotus Garden, this sculpture is located directly in front of the Fulu, Lushou, and Shousan Bridges and was designed by Professor Guo Baozhai from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Standing 6.8 meters tall, it is meticulously carved from high-quality white marble. The statue depicts a graceful and serene figure with a delicate posture, a lotus atop her head, and lotus leaves in her hands, exuding a mature beauty and embodying peace and good fortune.

Ornamental Columns (Huabiao): Also known as the Heaven and Earth Columns, these are crafted from high-quality granite in the shape of an eight-sided pillar. There are two columns, each standing on a lotus-shaped stone base on either side of the square. They are 6.9 meters tall, with two giant dragons coiled around each column. On the horizontal square slab sits a circular dew-collecting plate, topped with a stone beast on each. The Huabiao has a long history and profound symbolism, representing an indomitable and upward-striving spirit.
