Lianfeng Mountain Park

Lianfeng Mountain Park is the largest park in Beidaihe, with the highest peak reaching 153 meters above sea level. The park features three pine-covered peaks that are interconnected in shape, hence the name “Lianfeng,” meaning “Connected Peaks.” When viewed from afar, the peaks resemble a lotus seedpod, earning it the alternative name “Lotus Seedpod Mountain.”

Lianfeng Mountain Park was established in the eighth year of the Republic of China (1919) by Zhu Qiqian, a late Qing Dynasty official and acting premier of the Republican government. It was the first park in the history of the Qinhuangdao area at the time, known as Lotus Stone Park. The 1938 “Brief Records of the Seaside Region” listed 24 scenic spots, 14 of which were located in the Lianfeng Mountain area. Since 1954, the site has served as a summer office location for central government leaders. Many touching stories have been left here by revolutionary veterans such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, and Deng Xiaoping.

The Lianfeng Mountain scenic area is known for its hillside sightseeing, forest exploration, historical discovery, and fresh forest air—making it a widely celebrated tourist destination. The park features various uniquely named rocks, including the Rain Shelter Rock, Jar Rock, Lotus Rock, Moon Rock, Lion Rock, Blessed Land Rock, and Sword Testing Rock, each with its own charm. Ancient temples such as the Buddha Temple, Guanyin Temple, and Reclining Buddha Cave are simple yet majestic. The landscapes of the Divine Mountain Scenic Area, Hundred Blessings Garden Scenic Area, and Lotus Stone Scenic Area are captivating. From the Sea-Viewing Pavilion atop the main peak, you can watch the morning glow tint the sea, gaze at the sunset in the evening, look south to the vast ocean, north to the green mountains, east to the cityscape, and west to the villages. The panoramic views from above are truly breathtaking.
