Marshal Luo Ronghuan Memorial Hall

The Marshal Luo Ronghuan Memorial Hall is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The Marshal Luo Ronghuan Former Residence Memorial Hall is located in Nanwan Village, Ronghuan Town, Hengdong County. It is one of China’s 100 Classic Red Tourism Attractions, a National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base, and a Civilized Tourism Scenic Area in Hunan Province. The site consists of Luo Ronghuan’s former residence, the Luo Ronghuan Bronze Statue Square, the Exhibition Hall of Luo Ronghuan’s Life and Achievements, as well as restored displays of his office and bedroom. Luo Ronghuan’s former residence was built in 1914, with a construction area of 540 square meters; the Exhibition Hall of Luo Ronghuan’s Life and Achievements was built in 2002, with a construction area of about 1,200 square meters and an exhibition area of 6,100 square meters. It is divided into five major sections showcasing precious photos and historical documents from various periods of Luo Ronghuan’s life.

The Exhibition Hall of Marshal Luo Ronghuan’s Life and Achievements was built in 2002. Designed in a courtyard architectural style, the hall includes a foyer, an end hall, four exhibition rooms, and restored displays of Luo Ronghuan’s office and bedroom. It presents the glorious life of Marshal Luo Ronghuan through a large number of precious photos, historical documents, and artifacts.

The Luo Ronghuan Bronze Statue Square covers an area of 80 mu (approximately 5.3 hectares) and is divided into three levels, with the bronze statue standing in the center of the third level. The base of the statue is inscribed with the words “Bronze Statue of Marshal Luo Ronghuan,” personally written by Comrade Jiang Zemin.

The memorial hall has established the “August 1st Forest” and the “Marshal Memorial Garden,” providing visitors with spaces to plant memorial trees in honor of Marshal Luo Ronghuan. Visitors may entrust the memorial hall to purchase saplings or bring their own to plant in either the “August 1st Forest” or the “Marshal Memorial Garden.”
