The Mao Zedong Library is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Shaoshan Mao Zedong Library is a commemorative specialized library approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and inscribed with a nameplate by Comrade -, serving as an important part of the Shaoshan Revolutionary Memorial Site and a key base for revolutionary tradition education. It aims to become a "Research Center for Mao Zedong Thought" and has now evolved into an information hub for Mao Zedong Thought research at Xiangtan University. It was completed and opened to the public on December 20, 1996, with a construction area of 5,500 square meters. The planned collection is 500,000 volumes, and it has currently gathered over 100,000 books, more than 600 calligraphy and painting works, and over 3,000 DVDs.
