Silver Plate Mountain Tea House

Silver Plate Mountain is located on the north shore of Wuxi Lake and to the east of Shengong Fort. Surrounded by water on three sides and shaped like a plate, it is thus named Silver Plate Mountain. On one side lies Pine Ridge, and to the east stands a watchtower. With its serene landscape and pleasant scenery, it is an ideal resting spot along your journey.

Ascending Silver Plate Mountain, you will be enchanted by the emerald lake, blooming flowers, rushing mountain springs, drifting clouds, and surely find it hard to tear yourself away.

On Silver Plate Mountain, there is a cluster of pavilions integrating tea tasting, dining, entertainment, and accommodation, collectively known as the Silver Plate Mountain Tea House. The layout of the pavilions is uniquely designed, featuring distinct characteristics of southern Chinese gardens. It serves as an ideal place for scholars to write, scientists to conduct research, martial artists to train, elders to relax and recuperate, and couples to enjoy romantic moments.

During the Qing Dynasty, a local scholar named Mo Weixian composed a poem in its praise:

Since ancient times famed as Silver Plate, Through generations, spirits here reside.

Jade-like streams wind clear and bright, Thousand bamboos stand lush and green.

Should one reach the clouded path first, Even the high mounds would seem easy.

Today, I stroll here to broaden my view, Rejoicing in blossoms and birdsong all around.
