Hunan Huitong Qushui National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Hunan Huitong Qushui National Wetland Park is situated in the western part of Huitong County. It primarily covers the Qushui River section from the dam site of the Langjiang Hydropower Station upstream to the border with Jingzhou County, along with some adjacent forested areas on both riverbanks. The area involves the Dong Autonomous Township of the Dong and Miao ethnic groups in Langjiang Town, Lincheng Town, Guangping Town, and Lianshan Township. It extends about 19.2 kilometers from north to south and around 15.2 kilometers from east to west. Its geographical coordinates are between 26°46′52″N to 26°57′27″N and 109°36′40″E to 109°45′29″E, covering a total area of 1,319.0 hectares, of which 1,014.4 hectares are wetlands, accounting for a wetland ratio of 76.9%.

The wetland park is a composite wetland system composed of rivers, floodplain wetlands, and reservoir ponds. Its wetland system exhibits natural aquatic ecological features, hydrological processes, and high water environmental quality, making it typical and representative in China’s low mountain and hilly regions in the south. With rich biodiversity, unique local customs, and cultural heritage, it holds significant scientific and conservation value.

The park and its surrounding areas host 704 species of wild vascular plants across 148 families and 324 genera. There are more than 10 plant species of conservation value, including rare species such as beech, pistacia chinensis, wild water chestnut, Nuphar pumila, and gesneriads. The area is also home to 202 species of wild vertebrates from 5 classes, 27 orders, and 75 families, comprising 42 fish species, 19 amphibian species, 23 reptile species, 102 bird species, and 16 mammal species.
