Wuxi Cultural Square

Where mountains and water blend seamlessly, the square, green spaces, and gardens intertwine to form a beautiful tapestry where modern architecture, cultural landscapes, and natural ecology coexist in harmony. During the May Day Golden Week in 2004, Huaihua’s Wuxi Cultural Square was completed and opened to the public, attracting throngs of visitors. Over 100,000 residents gathered here for song and dance performances, singing competitions, flower, calligraphy, and photography exhibitions, film screenings, fireworks shows, as well as fun sports events such as chess, Go, and a “guess-the-riddle” contest with ten thousand participants. It has since become a great new leisure spot for the people of Huaihua.

To enhance the city’s cultural appeal and enrich residents’ cultural life, Hecheng District of Huaihua City constructed Wuxi Cultural Square in the eastern new district of Huaihua. Covering an area of 320 mu, including 60 mu of water bodies, the square is divided into a central plaza area, a landscaped garden area, and a natural ecological zone. The entire design of the square is people-oriented, “borrowing” views from the natural surroundings, and is themed around history and ethnic culture to highlight the importance of environmental protection and preserving our home. The pedestrian pathways are equipped with 100 benches, and the public restrooms include special seating for people with disabilities.
