Duoluo Village

Duoluo Village is located in Linfeng, southwest of Fenghuang Ancient Town. It is a Tujia ethnic village known for its rich and simple local charm. Historically called "Little Duoluo" and also known as "Douluo."

According to the *Fenghuang Place Names Record*, in ancient times, villagers preferred to carry their taxes—imperial grain—to the authorities in small baskets. The government named the village “Little Douluo,” which was later changed to “Douluo.” In any case, stories vary. Today, most families in the village bear the Yang surname, all claiming to be descendants of Yang Wenguang from the Song Dynasty. Duoluo is a picturesque mountain village. Due to its abundance of limestone and shale, which are prone to dissolution and weathering, the area features numerous uniquely shaped stone pillars and peaks. These natural wonders, masterfully crafted by nature, make this tiny village a microcosm of breathtaking scenery. Like a dazzling jewel of landscape, it is nestled along the Youluo River.
