Tianxing Mountain is located northwest of Fenghuang County and north of Liangtouyang Township. It stands as an isolated peak, towering and precipitous. In the 60th year of the Qianlong reign (1795 AD), Miao hero Wu Bayue led a Miao uprising against the oppressive rule of the Qing Dynasty. After their defeat, he and his rebel forces retreated to Tianxing Mountain, where they fought fiercely for several months before ultimately being defeated, with all the rebel soldiers meeting a heroic end. In 1961, it was designated as a prefectural-level cultural heritage site by the state government.
