Longshan Ecological Demonstration Park

The Longshan Ecological Park in Luan County is located at the southwest corner of the county town, on the west side of Changjiang Avenue, with an overall planned area of 60 hectares developed in phases. In 2002, an investment of 1.5 million yuan was made to carry out the first phase of the mountain closure and afforestation project, planting 25,000 trees on the mountain and its eastern side. This established a Civil Servants’ Forest dominated by Populus tomentosa, a Young Pioneers’ Forest dominated by torch trees, and a Youth Forest dominated by junipers. In 2007, plans called for an investment of 22 million yuan to complete the second phase of landscape engineering, covering an area of 27 hectares. Making skillful use of Longshan’s natural terrain, the project involved digging lakes to create water features, moving earth to shape hills, constructing park gates, building garden ornaments, improving vegetation on the mountainside, beautifying the surrounding environment, and installing leisure and recreational facilities.

The park is divided into three scenic areas: the first is the main entrance landscape area, connected along an axis consisting of a parking lot, the main gate, a composite flower stand, and a circular plaza; the second is the landscape area featuring mountains and water, using the Longshan mountain as the backbone and a dragon-shaped artificial lake as the centerpiece, complemented by pavilions, corridors, and bridges to showcase the beauty of dynamic mountain and water scenery; the third is the green leisure area, linked by natural paths through the woods and furnished with various plant communities and leisure spaces.
