Jiang Hao’s Former Residence is a patriotic education base in Yutian County. It is located on the west side of Beiliujiaqiao Village, Sanshuitou Town, about 12 kilometers southeast of Yutian County town, 0.5 kilometers east of the rural asphalt road, and 10 kilometers north of the Beijing-Qinhuangdao Railway. The surrounding area features flat terrain, fertile land, well-developed transportation, abundant water sources, and a pleasant environment. On July 15, 1993, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province by the People's Government of Hebei Province.

Jiang Hao was born in 1880 and died in 1931. His original name was Jiang Wenhao. He was an early revolutionary activist of the Chinese Communist Party, the founder of the local party organization in Yutian County, and had joined the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance led by Sun Yat-sen in his early years, dedicating himself to the bourgeois democratic revolution. After the October Revolution, he devoted himself to studying Marxist theory. With the help and influence of Li Dazhao, he gradually transformed from a patriotic revolutionary into a proletarian vanguard fighter. He held important positions such as a senator in the National Assembly and a member of the Revolutionary Committee of the Nanchang Uprising of the Chinese Communist Party. He often deliberated and fought alongside revolutionary leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Lin Boqu, making significant contributions to the Chinese revolutionary cause. Comrade Mao Zedong once highly praised him as “a revolutionary veteran as evergreen as pine and cypress.” Jiang Hao was born in Beiliujiaqiao Village, Yutian County, where his former residence is now preserved as Jiang Hao’s Former Residence. The residence is a Qing Dynasty civilian building, facing south with a northern orientation, built with blue bricks and small tiles. Originally designed as a quadrangle courtyard, it consists from south to north of a corridor-style entrance gate, a main house of four bays split into five rooms, a patio, and a second wall with a hanging flower gate in the center, opposite which are three-room wing rooms on each side. After Jiang Hao’s early death, the residence was managed by his relatives and nephews. Due to years of neglect, the entrance gate, the second wall, the hanging flower gate, and the eastern wing room collapsed one after another. After the liberation, with the active protection of the local party organization and the masses, the main structures—the main house and the western wing room—were preserved.

At the end of 1995, a total of 120,000 yuan was allocated by provincial, municipal, and county authorities for the restoration of Jiang Hao’s Former Residence. The restoration was completed in the first half of 1996, and a completion celebration was held on June 28 of that year. The restored residence follows the layout of a Qing Dynasty quadrangle courtyard, maintaining its original scale and appearance. It includes a hanging flower gate, three-room western wing room, and a single-story main house of four bays split into five rooms. The western room of the main house serves as a restoration room, displaying personal items used by Jiang Hao during his lifetime, such as wardrobes, tables, and chairs. The eastern room functions as an exhibition room, showcasing Jiang Hao’s glorious and great life through authentic historical photos and detailed textual records.

Through its architecture and vivid, detailed exhibits, Jiang Hao’s Former Residence fully demonstrates the indomitable spirit and dedication of the veteran revolutionary Jiang Hao throughout the long and arduous years of struggle, as well as his outstanding contributions to China’s revolutionary cause. Since being named a patriotic education base of Yutian County in 1995, various organizations have held activities here on holidays such as Youth Day, Party Founding Day, and National Day, including oath-taking ceremonies for joining the Communist Youth League or the Communist Party, or renewing party membership vows. Each year, over 5,000 people receive education here. In April 2004, it was designated as one of the second batch of patriotic education bases in Tangshan City.
