Huanghua Mountain Natural Scenery Tourist Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Huanghua Mountain, a national 2A-level scenic spot, is located within Xiaying Town, covering an area of about 50 square kilometers. It serves as the boundary mountain between Jixian County and Zunhua City in Hebei Province. The "Jizhou Annals" from the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty recorded: Huanghua Mountain, located 45 li northeast of the prefecture, boasts majestic and winding peaks, lush pine forests, and a Jade Emperor Hall atop the mountain. Originally built with iron tiles and no beams, it has since been replaced with glazed tiles and beams. In fact, the mountain was already famous during the Ming Dynasty. Ma Sigong of the Ming Dynasty highly praised the mountain’s beautiful scenery: clustered peaks and secluded valleys dot the landscape like stars, with clear waters and fresh air blending into one blue expanse. The mundane world gradually fades, while white clouds arise with vigor. From the Ming Dynasty's Ma Sigong’s "Huanghua Mountain Xinglongguan Stele Inscription," included in the Jizhou Annals of the Kangxi era, and the Qing Dynasty’s Xu Jiayan’s "Record of the Reconstruction of Wanshou Xinglongguan," one can clearly understand the history of Huanghua Mountain’s development and construction.

The scenic area features pristine natural landscapes such as Heaven-Piercing Fissure, Immortal’s Cave, and Horse Hoof Spring, as well as over ten cultural and historical sites including the Great Wall built with stone by the Yan State before the unification of the Six States, General’s Tomb, ancient temples, and humanistic attractions like the statue of Qi Jiguang and Guanyun Pavilion.

The area boasts rich wildlife resources: over 50 species of trees such as pines, cypresses, pecans, wild jujubes, and wild mountain peaches, as well as more than 10 types of wild animals including macaques, pheasants, and hares, and over 70 kinds of wild medicinal herbs. The scenic area also has a picking garden where visitors can harvest walnuts, apples, persimmons, pears, cherries, chestnuts, and jujubes.

The air here is fresh, the scenery pleasant, and the average temperature is 5 degrees lower than outside the mountains, making it an ideal summer retreat. It is a perfect destination for travel, leisure, and sightseeing.

Tips

How to get there: Located within Dongling Township, about 40 kilometers northwest of Zunhua City.

What to do: Visit the picking garden, Heaven-Piercing Fissure, Immortal’s Cave, Horse Hoof Spring and other pristine natural landscapes, as well as historical and cultural sites like the stone-built Great Wall of the Yan State before the unification of the Six States, General’s Tomb, ancient temples, and humanistic attractions such as the statue of Qi Jiguang and Guanyun Pavilion—over ten attractions in total.
