Hebei’s Luan County Forest Park is located in the southeastern part of the county town and stands out as a highlight in the region’s greening efforts. Established in 2003, the park covers an area of 1,053 mu, including 1,000 mu of green space, with a green coverage rate of 94.86%. The total investment was 12.53 million yuan. The forest park adheres to the principles of comprehensive planning, adapting to local conditions, and scientific design, forming an ecological landscape park that integrates sightseeing, leisure, and protection.

In 2003, with an investment of 4 million yuan, the first phase of the project was completed, planting over 70,000 trees of more than 20 species, including golden willow, Chinese scholar tree, ginkgo, poplar, magnolia, purple-leaf plum, wild rose, and lilac. In 2004 and 2005, an additional 8.53 million yuan was invested in the second phase, which improved the gate management area, the ecological wetland area, and road infrastructure. Landscape greening projects were carried out along the roads, featuring over ten types of flowering shrubs and plants. Multiple scenic spots were also built, such as the Flower Clock Welcoming Spring, Emerald Dyke Blushing Red, Lotus Breezes Carrying Fragrance, Quiet Pavilion Moon Viewing, and Soaring Clouds Hovering Aloft.

The gate management area has a unique style. The log-built entrance gate, complemented by a fan-shaped flower bed, a circular flower clock, and floral plots, appears natural, rustic, simple, and bright. The ecological wetland area is embraced by hills (Reclining Buddha Mountain) and water (Moon Lake, covering 40,000 square meters), creating a fresh, elegant, and playful atmosphere. The area features a child-friendly suspension bridge, uniquely shaped arch bridges, and winding zigzag bridges that complement each other beautifully. Wooden pavilions on the mountain, a hexagonal pavilion on the lake, and fishing platforms are arranged throughout, adding to the welcoming ambiance. The rich variety of plants, surrounded by blooming trees, are thoughtfully arranged to create a vibrant and diverse landscape. The forest park is hailed by locals as the “City’s Green Lung” and a “Natural Oxygen Bar.”
