Longkoumen Reservoir

Longkoumen Reservoir is located 26 kilometers northwest of Zunhua City, Hebei Province. It has a total storage capacity of 29.7 million cubic meters, an effective storage capacity of 13 million cubic meters, a normal water level of 67 meters, and a water surface area of 3,715 mu at normal water level. A 2,000-meter-long and 180-meter-wide green development belt has been built upstream of the reservoir area; a 118-mu central island project has also been constructed within the reservoir.

Longkoumen Reservoir is situated at the southern end of the Qingdongling (Eastern Qing Tombs), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a national 4A-level scenic area. To the southwest, it connects with Tiantai Mountain, to the northeast lies the Jinxing Mountain of Qingdongling, and to the east is the Qingdongling Tourism Service Base. After impoundment, the reservoir’s water surface directly meets the foothills of the two mountains, creating a picturesque landscape of lake and mountain scenery. Its development and construction form an important part of the greater Qingdongling tourism initiative. Integrated with the tourism service base, the Qingdongling scenic area, and the greenbelt development, it better serves visitors' needs for food, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment. Currently, Qingdongling receives 500,000 domestic and international tourists annually. Leveraging the tourism resources of Qingdongling, tapping into its tourism potential, and promoting the sustainable development of the tourism industry holds very promising prospects.
