Jidong Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

Jidong Martyrs' Cemetery is a national key martyrs' memorial building protection unit named by the State Council. It has been designated as a "Patriotic Education Base" and a "National Defense Education Base" by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Hebei Provincial Party Committee, the Hebei Provincial Government, the Tangshan Municipal Party Committee, and the Tangshan Municipal Government. It is also among the first batch of CCP History Education Bases in Hebei Province.

Jidong Martyrs' Cemetery was established in 1955 and completed and opened to the public on Tomb-Sweeping Day in 1958. Covering an area of 75,000 square meters, its main structures include a classical archway-style gate, the Martyrs' Memorial Tower, the Martyrs' Memorial Hall, and the Martyrs' Cemetery area. All buildings were leveled during the massive earthquake in 1976, and reconstruction was completed in 1986. The name "Jidong Martyrs' Cemetery" was inscribed personally by Marshal Nie Rongzhen. The Martyrs' Memorial Tower stands 34.5 meters tall, with its four sides engraved with inscriptions by proletarian revolutionaries Zhu De, Lin Boqu, Peng Dehuai, and Xiao Ke. The "Jidong Martyrs' Memorial Hall" was inscribed by General Xiao Ke, and its basic exhibition is titled "Exhibition of the Struggles and Achievements of Jidong Revolutionary Martyrs." On the green spaces east and west of the memorial hall, there are bronze statues of 20 renowned martyrs from Jidong. The Martyrs' Cemetery area contains 166 martyr tombs, housing the remains of 178 martyrs.

Jidong Martyrs' Cemetery has been honored with titles such as "Advanced Unit in Martyrs' Memorial Building Management" awarded by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and "First Batch of Model Units in Civil Affairs System Conduct Construction in the Province." Its service brand, "Promoting the Spirit of Martyrs and Inheriting the Soul of Jidong," has been recognized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs as a national quality service brand in the civil affairs system. The cemetery receives over 500,000 visitors annually from all walks of life and is open to the public free of charge. It serves as an important site for revolutionary tradition education and patriotic education in cities such as Tangshan, Qinhuangdao, Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia.

Huang Tian (1908–1945)

Huang Tian was from Xinmin Township. He graduated from Fudan University in Shanghai in 1931 and worked at the library of the Zhejiang Provincial Entomological Bureau.
