Dachengshan Park is located in the city center of Tangshan, Hebei Province. The city of Tangshan is named after Dachengshan (originally called Tangshan). Covering an area of 1.18 million square meters, the park integrates memorial areas, botanical zones, animal exhibits, and amusement facilities, making it the largest comprehensive urban park in the city. With its steep peaks and deep valleys, it features numerous significant cultural and natural ecological landscapes. The Longshan Culture Site, Xingguo Temple, General’s Pavilion, the Memorial Stele of General Jiang from the Later Tang Dynasty, and the Jidong Anti-Japanese Monument give Dachengshan Park a strong cultural atmosphere. In recent years, the park has successively built a wildlife zoo, a botanical garden, a bird forest, and high-standard international facilities.

Dachengshan Park is located in the eastern part of Tangshan and is the city's largest comprehensive park. Built against the mountain, the park’s main feature — Dachengshan — is the highest point in the city. Together with Jiashan Mountain, Phoenix Mountain, Wandao Mountain, and Xiaoshan, it forms a landscape of overlapping ridges and hills. The Dou River meanders at the foot of the mountain, giving the park a unique scenery of mountains embracing water and water complementing mountains. The scenery varies beautifully in each season. The entire park covers an area of 116.3 hectares. The terrain is higher in the north and lower in the south, steeper in the east and more gently sloped in the west.

The northeastern part is particularly steep. In ancient times, Dachengshan was divided into two peaks: eastern and western. The eastern peak stands at an elevation of 75.37 meters and rises prominently, while the western peak reaches 122 meters. The surface of Dachengshan is uneven, dotted with peculiar rocks and rugged cliffs, and covered with natural vegetation. The winding paths lead through secluded spots, where jagged rocks are sometimes exposed, sometimes buried, and sometimes half-hidden, creating a charming landscape.

In the spring of 1995, ancient cultural relics were discovered on Dachengshan. A total of 568 artifacts made of pottery, stone, bone, shell, and bronze were unearthed. After expert authentication, they were identified as belonging to the late Neolithic Longshan Culture period, and the site was named the "Dachengshan Longshan Culture Site."
