Yidaishan Mountain

Yidaishan Mountain, also known as Yaodai Mountain, is located in the north of Fengrun District, Tangshan City, bordering Qianxi. With beautiful scenery, the mountain once had a pavilion at its summit called "Wanghai Pavilion," which housed a stele inscribed with "Record of Wanghai Pavilion," created during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty. The stele now lies broken at the summit. Its main peak stands at an elevation of 648 meters. The area features rugged peaks, deep caves, unique landform landscapes, and a wide distribution of plants and animals.

Yudai Mountain, also known as Yudaishan or Yidaishan, is said to have been named after Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, who dropped his jade belt here during his eastern campaign when caught in the rain. A white mist band is often seen swirling around the mountain’s waist all year round, resembling a jade belt. The mountain is covered with lush pines and fruit trees, presenting a verdant and flowery sight. Yidaishan is part of the Yan Mountain range. Its eastern and northern slopes are steep and precipitous, with cliffs as if cut by knives and axes, while the Huánghuí River winds along the northern base of the mountain toward the west. The western and southern slopes are slightly more gentle. The entire mountain range is majestic, stretching high into the sky, vast and profound. From the summit, one can gaze out to see surrounding peaks lying below like children bowing in reverence, stretching endlessly. To the south, the vastness of the Bohai Sea can be faintly made out. Near the cliffs grow ancient trees, with pines and cypresses standing lush and green. In midsummer, a spectacular phenomenon known as the "Belt of Horizontal Clouds" appears around the time of heavy rainstorms, creating a uniquely striking scene. At the summit also lies the fragmented stele of Wanghai Pavilion, built in the 18th year of the Guangxu reign. The western foothills of the mountain feature Daxiangu, known for its natural water features including streams, cascades, and springs, as well as plant landscapes of grasslands and broadleaf forests, and karst features such as Crawl Cave and Heavenly Shrine. It combines elements of danger, serenity, quietude, and beauty, making it highly suitable for fitness and leisure activities.
