The Sanshan Wu Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province.

Located in Sanshan Village, Dushan Town, Echeng District, Ezhou City, the Wu Ancestral Hall was first constructed in the 18th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1838) and expanded in the 5th year of the Tongzhi reign (1866). It has a single-entry, double-courtyard layout in a traditional quadrangle style, measuring 14.8 meters in width and 23.7 meters in depth. The building is of brick-and-wood construction with a flush-gable roof tiled in clay. Inside the ancestral hall are two horizontal plaques inscribed with “Legacy of the Three Yieldings” and “Virtue Flows Forever.” The overall structure preserves the architectural style and design of traditional ancestral halls from the Qing Dynasty in southeastern Hubei, making it an important physical resource for the study of local Hubei architecture.

The reconstructed Wu Ancestral Hall retains its original style. The main structure is a post-and-lintel timber-framed building with a flush-gable roof, cat’s-arch gables, blue bricks, and green tiles. At the entrance, there are stone drums with a diameter of one meter on either side. The interior includes an octagonal watchtower and a stage, both adorned with carvings depicting the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea and floral designs, while beams and pillars are decorated with carved patterns of dragons and phoenixes. The animal and plant carvings throughout are vividly shaped and highly lifelike. The ancestral hall is 23.7 meters in depth and 14.8 meters in width. It is one of the rare surviving ancient ancestral structures in the Fanhu Lake area, holding significant historical and artistic value.

Sanshan Village: Sanshan Village is situated on Sanshan Lake, approximately 15 kilometers southwest of the city center. It borders Huangshi to the south and Wuhan to the north, offering very convenient transportation. The area boasts picturesque lake and mountain scenery and a pleasant climate.
