Huimin Square

Located on the north bank of the Beihe River and facing Santingyuan across the river, Huimin Square is a comprehensive municipal square that showcases the history, culture, and development achievements of Luannan. Sixteen granite totem poles are erected on both sides of the center of the square, displaying historical events and figures from different periods of Luannan; the central axis road is hardened and paved from north to south with the initials “L” and “N” in pinyin representing “Luannan”, the northern entrance is landscaped with plants forming the eight large characters “Speak Less, Do More, Strive to Be the First”, reflecting the determined and hardworking spirit of the people of Luannan. At the southern end, “Caofei Island” is constructed to express the everlasting sentiment of the Luannan people in supporting the development of Caofeidian, and a large musical fountain is built in the water to the south; the eastern part of the square features bronze relief sculptures displaying Luannan’s “Three Meters”, “Three Towns”, “Three Flowers”, and four major development scenes, while the western part houses a gathering plaza.
