Mingshui Spring is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Mingshui Spring Ecological Tourism Scenic Area in Xianning City is located in Guihua Town, Xian’an District, known as the “Hometown of Osmanthus in China.” It is 20 kilometers from the Hot Springs Government of Xianning and 90 kilometers from Wuhan. It forms a circular route of Xianning’s hot spring tourism along with Liujiabridge, Jinguilake, Taiyi Cave, Starlight Bamboo Sea, and Chang’e (Feixian Cave) Scenic Areas.

The scenic area features lush mountains, clear waters, secluded bamboo forests, and unique caves, with underground rivers and cascading waterfalls rushing down. The murmuring springs flow like a galloping herd of horses, while a mirror-like lake is nestled among the osmanthus and bamboo groves. With its mild climate and pleasant scenery all year round, the area combines four “number ones” in one: the world’s first “Natural Ming Spring Reclining Buddha,” Asia’s largest “underground water gate,” China’s top “Hometown of Osmanthus,” and the best “Ten-Thousand-People Cave” in the Chu region. At Mingshui Spring, every step offers a view—there are hills by the lake, caves in the hills, mountains hidden within the caves, surging underground rivers, and gushing waterfalls.

Guihua Town: Located in the southeastern part of Xian’an District, Guihua Town covers a total area of 173 square kilometers. It governs 24 administrative villages, 209 villager groups, and 5,776 households. In 2002, the per capita net income was 1,650 yuan. The area features overlapping mountains, a beautiful environment, abundant resources, well-developed transportation, and fast communication networks.
