Taiwan’s first-ever “Lunch Passport” offers 45 Taipei Da’an District restaurants for just NT$100

In an era when everything is getting more expensive except salaries, even having lunch requires careful budgeting. Now, Taipei has launched“NT100 LUNCH Lunch Passport”where designated meals at 45 restaurants are all available for just NT$100—helping budget-conscious diners save money and take the stress out of deciding what to eat today.

The concept of a lunch passport has long been popular across Japan, and now the trend has reached Taiwan. Liao Wan-chun from Geng Weilai Cultural Publishing noted that many people may have the preconceived notion that restaurants with exquisite interiors are “expensive,” causing them to hesitate to dine in. The purpose of the “NT100 LUNCH Lunch Passport” is not only to help those on a budget save money but also to allow the public to experience the ambiance and menu offerings of restaurants at a “tryout price” of NT$100—possibly adding these spots to their list for future gatherings with friends.

Although it can save a significant amount on dining costs, this lunch passport still comes with many usage restrictions that need to be noted before purchase. Currently, it is only available for 45 restaurants in Taipei’s Da’an District, each with specific time slots, and the validity period ends on June 18th—after which it will no longer be valid.

How to use the “NT100 LUNCH Lunch Passport”:

1. Each restaurant has designated time slots for using the passport. You must visit during the specified time with the passport to enjoy the NT$100 price.
2. Each store can be used up to 3 times. A stamp will be given for each use, and once 3 stamps are used up, you can no longer use the lunch passport at that store.
3. One passport can be shared by up to 3 people, but each meal will use one stamp. Therefore, if three people use it at the same time, all 3 stamps will be used up.
4. The original physical copy of the lunch passport must be presented to enjoy the NT$100 discounted price.
