Luo Zhen tea is a type of green tea with a needle-like shape, produced at the Wang Dazhen Premium Tea Base of Heshengqiao Tea Factory in Xian’an District, Xianning. This tea is made from high-quality varieties such as “Fuding Dabai,” “Baihaozao,” and “Bixiangzao.” It is cultivated using harmless farming techniques, harvested in early to mid-February each year, and carefully processed by selecting robust single buds through a unique production method. When a spoonful of Luo Zhen tea is placed in a cup and hot water is poured in, the tea leaves can be seen floating on the surface like “a sky full of emerald clouds,” then begin to move up and down in the cup like “fish playing in water.” After 2–3 minutes, the leaves all stand upright at the bottom of the cup, resembling “an array of spears and swords.” Coupled with its bright, tender green liquor and chestnut-like aroma, a sip brings an immediate sense of refreshment and joy. This tea has won numerous awards, including the First Prize at the 5th China Tea Cup Competition; the Gold Award at the 3rd International Famous Tea Competition; the Gold Award at the E’cha Cup for three consecutive sessions; and was featured in the 2004 edition of the "Chinese Tea Pictorial."
