Introduction:

There are a total of 14 springs here. The water is light yellow in color and contains over ten types of minerals such as sulfates, carbonates, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium, along with other trace elements. Regular bathing can help prevent and treat skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, gastrointestinal disorders, neuritis, ulcers, and colds. In addition to the hot springs, Xianning’s Xingxing Bamboo Sea is also very famous. The Xingxing Bamboo Sea is a provincial-level scenic area, located in Wenhua Township, Xianning City, about 86 kilometers from Wuhan. The bamboo sea scenic area is the largest bamboo forest scenic spot in Hubei Province, with a current total bamboo forest area of 100,000 mu and a coverage rate of over 90%. It is also known as the “Ten-Thousand-Mu Bamboo Sea” and has been listed as a UN forestry research site. On clear, cloudless days or when the breeze is light and the moon is bright, visitors can admire the vast expanse of green bamboo swaying across the land—a truly beautiful scenery. Xianning is also China’s renowned hometown of osmanthus. The Osmanthus Town, located just 16 kilometers from Xianning Hot Springs, is covered with osmanthus trees. When the golden osmanthus blossoms in full bloom during August, the air is filled with an intoxicatingly fragrant aroma. The osmanthus from Xianning is known for its crystal-clear color and rich fragrance, combining the best qualities of osmanthus from Wu County in Jiangsu and Guilin in Guangxi. Under the Feixian Cave at Wenshan Mountain, there is a 120-year-old osmanthus tree of the Dan variety that remains lush and vibrant to this day, blooming twice each year around the Mid-Autumn Festival. Not far from it, in Quantianfan, there is another osmanthus tree that blooms all four seasons—even in the depths of winter, it remains covered in fragrant blossoms, which is quite magical.

Transportation:

Take a long-distance bus from Wuhan to Xianning. It takes about one and a half hours via National Highway 107.
