The former residence of anti-Japanese hero Hong Lin’ge is a cultural relic protection unit of Tangshan City.

Hong Lin’ge was a renowned anti-Japanese hero whose fame spread across eastern Hebei and even the whole nation. Under the influence of our Party, he was the first to fire the first shot against Japanese aggression in the eastern Hebei region. Last year, he was named one of the top ten outstanding figures in Tangshan since the founding of New China. - The Commander-in-Chief spoke highly of the Eastern Hebei Anti-Japanese United Army and expressed deep regret over Hong Lin’ge’s sacrifice. He said: “The success of the revolution depends on the brave struggle of 0 people. Without the concerted efforts of outstanding non-Party patriots and virtuous individuals, it would be difficult to achieve. Hong Lin’ge is precisely the kind of patriotic intellectual that our revolutionary ranks urgently need, as well as the military talent that our Party greatly requires. His sacrifice is a major loss for us.” Dibeitou Village is not only the birthplace of Hong Lin’ge, but also the site of the 1938 Eastern Hebei Peasant Uprising, serving as a local patriotic education base. Since last year, the Dibeitou Town Party Committee and government, in conjunction with the Municipal Cultural Relics Management Office, have invested over 200,000 yuan to renovate and arrange exhibits at Hong Lin’ge’s former residence. They also organized historical materials and collected cultural relics, turning the residence into a memorial hall, which opened to the public in mid-June.

So far, nearly 200 party workers, model workers, and outstanding Party members from the Party committees of Zunhua and Tangshan power supply companies have come here for patriotic education, and have designated the site as a traditional Party education practice base.
