The Zhuacun Site

The Zhuacun Site is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

The Zhuacun Site was designated as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit in 1982. In 1983, the People's Government of Qian'an County issued Document No. Qian Zheng [1983] 99, which announced the site’s protected area and construction control zone. The primary protected area is centered around H86019, extending 460 meters southeast to the west side of Lengda Road, 720 meters south to the north side of Lengda Road, 480 meters west to the east side of Liushuigou, and 400 meters north to the southern foot of Datang Mountain. The construction control zone is delineated with the boundary of the primary protected area as the baseline, extending 5 meters eastward to residential houses; 10 meters southeastward to the edge of Lengda Road; 40 meters southwestward to the foot of Cishan Mountain; 20 meters westward to the edge of Liushuigou; and 40 meters northward to the foot of Datang Mountain. The total area of the site is approximately 540,000 square meters.

At location H5801 west of the village, there is a provincial-level protection marker erected by the Qian'an Municipal Government. It is made of cement, measuring 90 cm in length and 6 cm in thickness, with the inscription “Hebei Provincial Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit – Zhuacun Site” engraved in clerical script. At location H86020 south of the village, there is a stone protection marker erected by the Qian'an Municipal Government, with the inscription “Hebei Provincial Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit – Zhuacun Site” engraved on the tablet. There are 30 cement boundary markers at the site, numbered 1–30 on the east, west, south, and north sides (some are now missing).

In 1984, the Qian'an Cultural Relics Preservation Office compiled an archival record for the site. In 1992, in accordance with the “Detailed Rules for the ‘Four Haves’ Work Standards of Hebei Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units,” the archival record was rewritten. In May 2004, application materials for designating the Zhuacun Site as a national key cultural relics protection unit were prepared.

In 2005, under the guidance of cultural heritage authorities, Yejituo Town built a cultural wall around the site to the east of the village, effectively preventing local residents from constructing buildings or digging soil within the site, which could have caused damage. In 2006, trees were planted on the site, and cultural heritage protection law promotional paintings were painted on the cultural wall. This not only effectively protected the site but also helped promote awareness of the cultural relics protection law and raised public consciousness about preservation.

In May 2006, the site was designated as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council.
