The Guodi Site is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Era: Xia to Zhou

The Guodi Site is located in Houliuchengzi Village, Huoshyi Town, Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. It is a historical and cultural relic from the Xia to the Zhou dynasties. Discovered in April 1990, it was named for its turtle-shaped terrace that resembles a turtle drinking from a river. The terrace is 6 meters high and covers an area of about 5,000 square meters. Excavations conducted from October to November 2004 uncovered remains such as house foundations, tombs, and ash pits, as well as artifacts including stone, jade, bone, shell, iron, bronze, gold, and pottery objects. Pottery items were predominant, with vessel shapes such as li, ?, ding, zun, weng, dou, basin, and jar. The gold artifacts were a pair of gold earrings found in a tomb. Among the bone artifacts, divination bones held significant archaeological value and are rare within the province. Based on the characteristics of the relics, the site is dated to the late Shang Dynasty.

In November 2008, it was designated as a Cultural Relics Protection Unit of Hebei Province by the Hebei Provincial Government. In May 2013, it was listed as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units by the State Council.
