Qian'an Guayun Mountain

Guayun Mountain is located to the west of Dawuli Township in Qian'an City, with an elevation of 629.5 meters, making it the second highest peak in the city. The mountain is often shrouded in drifting clouds, with peaks appearing and disappearing like a fairyland on earth—hence the name "Guayun Mountain" (Hanging Cloud Mountain). Halfway up the mountain, there is a spring called "Dragon Spring," whose water is cool and sweet. The village has now channeled the spring water down for villagers to drink. Legend has it that there used to be a Dragon Spring Temple nearby, surrounded by 14 other temples.

Guayun Mountain Gorge stretches ten Chinese miles deep and features four wonders: First is the "Bright Pool Like a Pearl." Before entering the gorge, there is a clear spring named "Clear Water Spring," whose crystal-clear waters add endless charm to the valley; second is the "Forest of Unique Rocks." The colorful stones left behind by the goddess Nüwa when she mended the sky take you into a marvelous mythological world; third is the "Cliff Reaching Ten Thousand Feet." The red and white cliffs in the valley rise like towering walls, piercing straight into the blue sky; fourth is the "Connected Caves." These include the Golden Pigeon Cave and Golden Pigeon Well by Golden Pigeon Spring, the never-drying Wangmu (Queen Mother of the West) Cave, and the bottomless Bottomless Cave.

The Guayun Mountain Gorge scenic area is rich in temple ruins, myths, legends, and historical tales. Major existing attractions include Yahu Mountain, chestnut forests, ancient locust trees, Liangshui Spring, colorful stone beaches, war-preparedness caves, Eight Jars of Silver, Golden Pigeon Cave, Wangmu Cave, Wu Cave, Dressing Tower, Donkey Tail Cave, Gepo Slope, Twin Caves, Heaven Gate and Heavenly Ladder, Immortal Ascension Platform and Twin Caves, Wucha Gully, Wuzhi Spring, Taoist Huang’s Hermitage, and the Bottomless Cave.
